Connect website live chat widget

Install and verify the website widget so visitor messages reach your Sookly inbox.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access in Sookly.
  • Access to website code or tag manager.
  • A destination inbox already exists.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Channels and open Website Chat.
  2. Select the inbox where website conversations should land.
  3. Copy the widget installation snippet.
  4. Add the snippet to your site layout (before closing body tag).
  5. Publish the change and test in an incognito browser.
  6. Send a test chat and confirm it appears in Sookly.
  7. Reply from Sookly and confirm the message appears in the widget.

What success looks like

  • Widget loads on target pages.
  • Visitor messages appear in the mapped inbox.
  • Replies sync correctly in both directions.

Common issues and fixes

  • Issue: Widget is visible but no messages appear in Sookly.

    Fix: Check channel-to-inbox mapping and workspace configuration values.

  • Issue: Widget script is blocked in browser console.

    Fix: Update CSP rules to allow required script and connect sources.
